While taking over the mantle of leadership from her predecessor Prof Andrew Haruna, the new vice-chancellor said she would consolidate on the progress made in the last few years.

” I am impressed with the efforts of both management and staff for all the sacrifice they have done to the growth of this institution”

She said ” the journey started as a dream and when I realized that I was the only female contestant amongst many male contestants and a number of them were my senior colleagues in the academic cycle, I felt, I was daydreaming”

” But I took courage when I recalled quote saying “It always seems impossible until it is done” and that re-energized my efforts bearing in mind that no struggle is easy and I am also a strong believer that with God nothing is impossible”

” My predecessor whom I worked with in the past has displayed wisdom in his leadership and for the legacies he has left i assure you of my absolute commitment to do my best and lift us to another level of development “

She implored the staff and students to be hardworking and focus in carrying out their task.

Earlier speaking the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof Andrew Haruna noted that he has made a significant progress in staff capacity building and infrastructures breakthrough of the institution.

” During my assumption of office as vice chancellor of this great University in February, 2016, there were only three (3) faculties and Twenty three (23) departments,  I am happy today that am leaving the University with an increase of over 100% addition of courses” He added.  

“We have also sent 49 academic staff on study fellowship abroad and 73 on study leave within the country, a total of 122 staff are on post-graduate training”
